Gauge and Ply explained
Gauge: weight of a knitted garment measured in gg. It tells you how tightly the threads have been knit together. The higher the gauge number, the lighter the garment will be. The smaller the gauge, the heavier the garment will be.
We recommend: 12gg for all year round wear and for layering in the colder months.
8gg or less for a heavier knit, ideal in the colder months.
Ply: 2 ply means 2 threads are twisted together to make the yarn. This is more durable and stronger than 1 ply.
